  • Waterproof? But how..?

All of our stainless steal jewellery is PVD gold plated, which makes it extremely durable and also waterproof. But how does this work exacly?

Stainless Steal is no doubt the most durable material, and it is the perfect candidate if you would like to wear your pieces daily. It is corrosion, tarnish and scratch free.

Stainless Steal does not react to water, making those pieces the perfect option for the daily wear - you can shower with them, wash your hands and not worry about damaging them from the water.

They will not turn green, dark, get rust or react to the water in any way.

That's the beauty of stainless steel!

  • What is PVD Gold Plating?

Physical Vapor Deposition, or PVD, is a vacuum coating process that is the newest and most effective Gold Plating Option. It uses a titanium nitride that provides an extremely durable coating.

PVD coatings are more resistant to corrosion from sweat and regular wear than gold plating. The gold layer is also thicket than with other gold plating methods, thus resulting in even longer lasting jewely.

The result - high quality long lasting jewels, that are also waterproof!

You do not need to worry aboth anything when wearing our stainless steel pieces - showering, training or lotions, your jewels will be with you for years to come!

Types Of Waterproof Jewellery

Stainless steel jewellery:

Stainless steel is a composition of iron and involves a mixture of nickel, iron, chromium, etc. It is durable, prevents rusting, and is easy to clean. Stainless steel gives jewellery a clean, mirror-like finish and is widely used in the jewellery industry. Stainless steel jewellery is usually affordable, making it a popular choice for people searching for waterproof jewellery.

Titanium jewellery:

Titanium is the hardest, purest, most durable, and lightweight metal today. Titanium does not tarnish or rust over time and is one of the best materials for producing waterproof jewellery. Titanium is also used medically in the production of solid implants. Titanium jewellery is usually priced higher than platinum, and purchasing titanium jewellery might leave a dent in your purse or wallet.

Type of Jewellery vulnerable to water

Diamond jewellery:

Diamonds gradually lose their shine when exposed to water and soaps. This is due to the formation of a film on the surface of the diamond. Water also causes the gradual softening of its edges.

Silver jewellery:

When exposed to water and soaps, Silver reacts and gradually loses its shine. Over time, continuous exposure to water will cause Silver to become black regardless of efforts made to maintain it. So remember to remove your silver jewellery before carrying out activities that will expose your silver jewellery to water.

Gold and Silver plated jewellery:

Using Silver and gold in water will cause the metal plating to wear out. When silver and gold plated jewellery are exposed to soaps and other alkaline media, their surface may begin to chip off, exposing the metal and affecting the appearance of your jewellery.

Brass jewellery:

While brass is affordable and durable, it is vulnerable to water and easily loses its shine. Brass can be maintained with polishing.

Gold jewellery:

Most people think that pure gold is waterproof. The truth, however, is that pure gold is soft and easily experiences wear and tear. However, compared to the other jewellery vulnerable to water, pure gold is more durable and maintains its shine for a longer period.
