What makes gold plated jewellery waterproof?
Two things: the base metal and the way the gold is applied.
- The base metal. 316L stainless steel resists rust and corrosion, even in salt water. Brass and copper react with water and darken over time.
- The plating method. ION plating, also called PVD, bonds the gold directly to the steel. The result is a harder, more wear-resistant finish than standard electroplating.

Can you shower and swim in waterproof gold jewellery?
Yes. Our waterproof jewellery is designed to stay on through showers, workouts, rain and the sea.
After chlorine or salt water, rinse it in fresh water and pat it dry. That keeps the finish bright for longer.
Is waterproof gold jewellery good for sensitive skin?
Yes. 316L stainless steel is hypoallergenic and gentle on most sensitive skin. Because ION plating lasts longer, the steel underneath stays covered and comfortable.
