BRASS RINGS – Considered Design, Clear Material Information

BRASS RINGS — bring a personal finishing touch to your everyday style with DANSK Copenhagen. Explore Scandinavian design with clear material information, so you can choose a ring for its look, fit and the way you wear it. The rings in this collection are made from brass, not 316L stainless steel.

Nickel release, lead and cadmium

Our brass jewellery complies with EU REACH requirements for nickel release, lead and cadmium content. Nickel release describes the nickel that can be released during skin contact; it is not the same as the total nickel content of a material. Meeting these requirements does not mean that every metal is completely absent.

If you are searching for nickel-free rings because your skin reacts to jewellery, look beyond the collection name. Material, surface condition and your individual sensitivity all matter. Compliance with nickel-release requirements is not a guarantee that a ring will suit every person with a nickel allergy. If you have a known allergy, ask your dermatologist for advice and contact us about the specific design before choosing.

Find a fit that feels right

Choose your size for the finger where you plan to wear the ring. Your fingers can change size with temperature and throughout the day, so check your fit more than once. The ring should pass over your knuckle without feeling tight at the base of your finger.

Consider the band width as well as the size. A wider band can feel closer-fitting than a narrow ring in the same size. When stacking rings, leave enough room to bend your finger comfortably. An open design is not automatically adjustable; only change the fit when the product information specifically allows it.

Care for brass rings

These brass rings are not waterproof. Remove your ring before washing your hands, showering, swimming, exercising or using cleaning products. Let hand cream and other skincare absorb before putting it back on, and keep the skin beneath the band clean and dry.

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear and store separately in a dry place. Avoid abrasive cleaners and polishing products unless the individual product instructions recommend them. Follow any additional care guidance for stones, pearls or other decorative details.

Looking for a different material?

For a separate stainless-steel alternative, explore our hypoallergenic rings and read about 316L surgical steel. Stainless steel contains nickel and should not be confused with a nickel-free material. If water resistance is your priority, explore our separate waterproof rings collection.

Brass Jewellery — Classic Craftsmanship

These designs are part of an earlier chapter of DANSK Copenhagen — made from brass with gold or silver plating. The same considered design, the same Nordic minimalism. A different material, honestly presented. Each one is a beautiful object in its own right.

A Note on Brass

Brass is a warm, workable metal with a long history in jewellery making. Unlike 316L stainless steel, brass is not waterproof or tarnish-free — it benefits from a little more care. Keep it dry, store it away from moisture, and clean gently with a soft cloth. Treated well, brass jewellery ages with character.

Looking for Everyday Wear?

If you are looking for jewellery you can wear every day without thinking about it — through showers, swimming, and daily life — explore the full DANSK Copenhagen collection in 316L stainless steel. Waterproof, tarnish-free, and hypoallergenic. Available in gold and silver across necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets.

Designed in Copenhagen. Made with Love.

Every design — brass or steel — is crafted with the same care and intention. Clean lines, timeless forms, made to complement the wearer. Made with love. Designed to last.

FAQ

What is brass jewellery?

Brass is a metal alloy made from copper and zinc, with a warm golden tone. It has a long history in jewellery making and is valued for its workability and classic appearance. DNSK brass pieces are finished with gold or silver plating.

Is brass jewellery waterproof?

No — brass is not waterproof. Unlike 316L stainless steel, brass can tarnish and discolour when exposed to moisture over time. Keep brass jewellery dry and store it away from humidity for best results.

How do I care for brass jewellery?

Keep it dry and away from moisture, perfume, and harsh chemicals. Clean gently with a soft dry cloth. Store in a cool, dry place — ideally in a pouch or box to minimise air exposure.
